This week we have said a fond goodbye to our fantastic Community Agent Susanne Allcroft.
Susanne joined us in 2020 as the ravages of the Covid pandemic were just beginning to affect community life, and immediately made a big difference to the support and help available to our communities, especially to the over 50s, the physically and digitally isolated, and their families.
Susanne established the Coffee Companions friendship group, which has grown to be a valued resource to all of its members and their friends, and which will continue to meet every Tuesday at the Lead Mines.
Susanne also took the lead within the County Borough’s Community Agent service in developing services to support dementia, and she takes her qualifications as a Dementia Ambassador with her into her new role. She also takes the heartfelt thanks of all at Minera Community Council and of the many residents whose lives she has positively touched in her five years of exemplary service.
We will very soon begin the process of recruiting a new Community Agent for the Minera communities, and will post all the relevant details her and on our Facebook page. If in the meantime you or anyone you know might be interested in applying for this rewarding role, please contact me for further details.
