Remembrance ceremonies in Minera and Coedpoeth

Thank you to everyone who attended our Remembrance commemoration on Saturday morning. We are particularly grateful to Rev Emma Dale for leading the ceremony on what was for her a very busy weekend of duties, and to the Head Teacher and children of Minera School for reading in the ceremony and placing a wreath. As always we were superbly supported by the Royal British Legion and Salvation Army, by North Wales Police and a good turnout of residents. Thanks also to Community Council Vice-chair Councillor Kate Coventry for reciting the dedication to the fallen, and to Vic Barclay who again read out the names on the memorial with dignity and reverence.
Tea and coffee was enjoyed afterwards at the Tyn Y Capel, and we’re grateful to Mike, Lisa and the team for opening early on our behalf.
In addition to our own commemoration on the Saturday of Remembrance weekend we also place a wreath on the Coedpoeth cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. I had the honour of carrying out this duty this year.
Congratulations and grateful thanks to everyone who organised an excellent church service ceremony, and to all who came and stood with the fallen before enjoying refreshments in the newly-refurbished Parish Hall.
